Keep Boise Cool

Art Direction & Design

Keep Boise Cool is a City of Boise program designed to help residents shift toward more environmentally minded decisions in their everyday lives, offering actionable steps for living smarter and expanding into classes and community events. I led the branding, art direction, and execution for the program from the ground up, starting with a hand-drawn logo and building the deliverables design around eccentric typography, a fun pastel-ish color palette, and hand-built patterns. A look meant to feel approachable and optimistic rather than preachy or corporate.

That identity carried through a wide range of applications, from flyers, billboards, and lightpole banners to a full line of swag, including shirts, sweaters, and stickers. Keeping the hand-drawn, playful tone consistent across a variety of deliverables from large-scale outdoor signage down to small social posts was central to making the program feel like a genuine community initiative rather than a top-down city campaign.
